Magazine Cover Photography Ideas

The magazine needed to show a sense of Ruby's character. Therefore as a group, we decided to choose the photos suited for the magazine 'DEPTH'.

Using Studio photography enhances the feeling of a professional photo for a magazine. However, it also help us during editing as the white backdrop is easily erased.

Use of the camera in relation to the photography theme used in our Comedy Drama Film.

However, the camera is covering too much of her face.

Ruby's posture suited her character within the trailer:  secretive, quiet personality.

However, Ruby is not facing the audience, we can not deliever a strong interaction which we want for the magazine to lead the audience to watch our trailer.

A sense of closeness and the feeling of being drawn in from her facial expression and the use of the close-up.

Her facial expression is too serious and we want to create a link to our film 'We Will Shine', therefore needed an uplifting mood to the magazine cover.

After exploring a few photos taken in the photoshoot, we decided to go for this photo of Ruby hugging a sketchbook.
Sketchbook- creativity, suited for the photography theme within our film
Ruby- Hug gesture symbolises the combination the subject and her personal life formed within the film, her small smile and half her face in the shadows illustrates the combination of the problems and her happy moments clashing.

However, we notice the photo has been a bit overexposed and therefore with the help of the Brightness/Contrast tool on Adobe Photoshop to resolve this issue.
